Sierra Petro

Sierra creates and posts content on Media Education Lab’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages. She is a member of the MediaEd Club and MediaEd Practitioners Group. She earned her BA in Media Studies, with a minor in Journalism, from Purchase College. She is passionate about contributing to the advancement of media literacy education in the K-12 curriculum as a tool for empowering students to use digital tools and evaluate information.

After spending her past few years after graduation working in the field of marketing at various companies, including Christie’s auction house, she is excited to make the change to a career in educational programming for children. She lives in Hoboken, New Jersey and is the main contact for the Hudson County chapter of the League of Women Voters’ involvement in the organization’s Energizing Young Voters initiative. She plans and carries out voting education  curriculum and voting simulation events for local high schools.
