New Online Grad Class: Texts & Tools for Children & Youth


Renee Hobbs is teaching a fully online graduate course that explores three specific discourse communities: children and media, children's and young adult library service, and children's media industries while introducing students to digital media tools and technologies.

Check out the course here. Designed for future children's librarians, teachers, young adult librarians, creative media production professionals, researchers and youth media specialists, this course examines the past, present and future of print, visual, sound and digital media texts, tools and technologies for children and young people ages 3 - 15.

Renee Hobbs offers an innovative, hands-on approach to graduate education which is explicitly interdisciplinary in weaving together research, theory and practice from the fields of human development, media studies, education,  and library and information studies.
