2016 Leadership in Digital Literacy Awards

Announcing the 2016 Leadership in Digital Literacy Awards!

We're proud to announce that the Media Education Lab will be presenting the Leadership in Digital Literacy Awards to two individuals who demonstrate exemplary evidence of leadership.

Leaders have a clear vision for how digital literacy advances learning. They inspire others by modeling the way and challenging the process. Leaders in digital literacy enable others to act and encourage the heart.

In whatever setting you act, or whatever role you play, you can be a leader in digital literacy.

This summer, two winners of the Leadership in Digital Literacy Awards receive free tuition to attend the 2016 Summer Institute in Digital Literacy, to be held July 24 - 29, 2016. A panel of judges will select two awards, one for a first-time participant and one for a returning participant who will enroll in the Tier 2 Leadership track. Each award is valued at $750.

Who Can Participate:  Anyone can apply for the Leadership in Digital Literacy Award. We will select two winners: one will receive an award to attend the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy, Tier 1. Applicants who have previously participated in the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy will be considered for the Tier 2 award.

To self-nominate, simply tell us why you're a leader in digital literacy. Finalists will be selected by the faculty of the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy based on the following criteria: 40% understanding and appreciation of digital literacy, 40% evidence of leadership qualities, and 20% style. You may use any form of expression and communication to accomplish your goal.
