Kate Spiller is a recent graduate of Temple University's School of Communications and Theater. She manages the My Pop Studio (www.mypopstudio.com) website. She served as an Instructor for the Powerful Voices for Kids program in the summer of 2010, and her main areas of interest within media literacy are nutrition, self-image, and representations of sexuality.. In the Fall of 2010, she serves as Volunteer Coordinator for the Media Education Lab.
The Media Education Lab at the University of Rhode Island advances media literacy education through research and community service. We emphasize interdisciplinary scholarship and practice that stands at the intersections of communication, media studies and education.
