Engaging the Community in Media Literacy through Partnerships
We are delighted to support efforts by the U.S. State Department to bring together media literacy educators and advocates from around the world.
Alumni TIES TechCamp Reconnect will bring together a select group of up to 60 alumni from countries in the Western Hemisphere who participated in U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs and TechCamps, including TechCamp Guayaquil, TechCamp Argentina, TechCamp São Paulo, TechCamp Guatemala, TechCamp Peru, YLAI TechCamp Bolivia, TechCamp CDMX, and TechCamp Bogota. In addition to these exchange alumni, we will include veteran TechCamp trainers from the selected workshops and other leading international experts. Alumni TIES TechCamp Reconnect is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding from the U.S. Government. World Learning will administer the seminar's logistics and small grants program and PeaceTech Lab and the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) will provide subject matter expertise.
DATE: Thursday, March 18
TIME: 1 - 2:15 PM EST
How can we spread the word about the necessity for media literacy? Through finding your allies and partners! Whether school and community, elders and youth, non-profits and for-profits, media educators and media creators, and so many more, partnerships increase your capacity for creating awareness, activity, and change. Sound good?
