Falling Down the Rabbit Hole

Join us for an online discussion about what you can do when someone in your life is drawn into networks of disinformation, propaganda, and hate. Radicalization is a process of change where a person undergoes a transformation over a period of time. People in extremist networks look for new recruits, and they cultivate feelings of inclusion and belonging. Their grievances, arguments, and ideas may appeal to people who find comfort in blaming others for problems in society. They may take pleasure in discovering extremist content that is "hidden in plain sight." Learn to identify when and where it’s possible to intervene and support the person to choose a more positive pathway. Friends and family members can use questions and active listening strategies to disrupt the radicalization process.

What can you do to support people in your life who may be moving towards radicalization?
