Join us for a reprise of the panel discussion titled, “Disassembling Mis/Disinformation, Reassembling Democracy: Theory, Practice and Possibilities." This group of scholars are aiming to expand the conceptual repertoire from which we draw to understand and remedy mis/disinformation in educational theory and practice.

  • Allie Thrall: The Politics of Mis/Disinformation: Ideological Asymmetries in Media Practice and Process

  • Chris Clark & Mardi Schmeichel: Towards a Counter-Propaganda Approach to Democratic Education

  • Will Fassbender & Brad Robinson: Birds Aren’t Real: Vigilante Civic Literacies for Classroom Counterpublics

  • Renee Hobbs, discussant

There will be time for small group discussion as we explore how the framing of mis/disinfo has affected practices of teaching and learning for people of all ages.
