Forty-one educators participated in the first teacher education program for media literacy in the nation of Qatar, held December 11 - 12, 2007. Sponsored by the Qatar Foundation, division of Higher Education.
The Media Literacy Institute enabled elementary, secondary and university-level educators to understand key concepts of media literacy and integrate innovative instructional practices in work with students. The program is designed to help teachers strengthen critical thinking and communication skills to help children and youth respond to mass media and popular culture and to create their own messages using digital media.
