A democratic civilization will save itself only if it makes the language of the image into a stimulus for critical reflection, not an invitation to hypnosis.
Teacher Researcher Partnership Opportunity
Are you teaching students about media representations of gender? Would you be
interested in bringing this topic to your students?
Children and young people learn about their identity through TV, films, music and other
forms of popular culture. Bringing the topic of media representations of gender
into the middle or high school classroom is important but challenging.
We need to learn more about how to teach students about media and gender. This is why
teacher-researcher collaborations that aim to advance our knowledge in this
area are so valuable.
Email Elizaveta Friesem at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about opportunities to collaborate with
the Media Education Lab. In your email describe your current teaching
assignment, and provide your phone number and the best time to call.
