People underestimate how powerful the media is for young people who grow up watching a lot of television. Through the media, we've established this standard of what every human being should look up to.
We Celebrate Character Day 2016
This year, the Media Education Lab is offering an on-campus activity during Character Day. Assistant Professor Yonty Friesem will have his TV studio class present the work of Tiffany Shlain to introduce the concept of cloud filmmaking.
Students will screen Shlain's short film, The Science of Character, followed by a showcase of their own work on the topic. Then, the audience reflects on their life experiences using the periodic table of character strengths.
This one hour-long event is designed to showcase how media production and cloud filmmaking advance our connectivity and build on our strengths. All are welcome to join our celebration of character day!
DATE: Thursday, September 22, 2016
TIME: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
LOCATION: Connecticut Room, Memorial Hall, Central CT State Univ, Hartford CT
