Join us for a reception and dinner with Karin Wiedemann, Managing Director Alumni Relations/Leadership Programs with The German Marshall Fund and visiting cross-sector leaders from Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine, Greece, Portugal and Finland.

 

We also welcome Renee Hobbs to the podium this evening

Renee Hobbs is an internationally-recognized authority on digital and media literacy education who works to advance the quality of digital and media literacy education in the United States and around the world. A professor at the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island, she is also Founder and Director of the Media Education Lab. Hobbs has authored 12 books and more than 200 scholarly and professional articles on subjects including media literacy education, propaganda, digital learning, and copyright and fair use. Hobbs has raised nearly $5 million in funding for media literacy initiatives and offered professional development programs on four continents. She earned an Ed.D from Harvard Graduate School of Education and an M.A. and B.A. from the University of Michigan.
