What Research Says (keynote address)

Renee reflects on the progress made by researchers studying media literacy education over 25 years. She highlights some of the research presented at the first-ever Research Summit on Media Literacy Education and discusses some of the most intriguing findings and results from recent dissertations.  She offers her own reflections on the dynamic relationship between research and practice and considers how research on outcomes and learning processes can help improve the work of practitioners.  She makes recommendations about topics and issues which deserve further inquiry from researchers in communication/media studies, education, and public health.  She shares findings about the educational consequences of copyright confusion for media literacy educators and all those with interests in promoting digital learning.
