Alex David is a fifth year Secondary English/ journalism teacher piloting a digital composition / literacy course for St. Mary's County Public Schools in Maryland. Before becoming a teacher, he received his BA in Creative writing at Florida State University, worked as a cameraman and editor for BET Networks in NYC, studied improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade, started his own video production company, then earned his MA in Leadership in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University. He is excited about digital literacy because it is at the crossroads of all of his passions, empowers students with the skills to navigate media, engages students in their work, and embraces the culture in which we live.
