Haixia He is a visiting scholar of Dr. Renee Hobbs in Temple University. Haixia He comes from western China and has been a college English teacher for more than five years in Ningxia University. She is currently working with Dr. Renee Hobbs in Media Education Lab to investigate and examine how instructional practices with media and technology may enhance second language learning. She is planning to design some media-based language learning and teaching strategies and activities to study how media, such as analyzing advertisements, creating news report, watching TV shows, creating website, making videos and film clips, can be produced as an effective and powerful tool to better practice learners’ language skill. Currently she is designing film-based language activities and curriculum to practice second language learner’s skill of listening, speaking, reading and writing, which is one part of her media-based language teaching research.
