People underestimate how powerful the media is for young people who grow up watching a lot of television. Through the media, we've established this standard of what every human being should look up to.

Jenny Sullivan is a senior at the University of Rhode Island, majoring in history with an anthropology minor. She aspires to obtain her masters in education, whether that be for history or teaching English as a second language. Her work and future plans are most inspired by social justice, the decolonization of education, and the encouragement of empathy and equality. She is a passionate advocate for the adage “knowledge is power,” and she believes that power should be accessible to all.
