A democratic civilization will save itself only if it makes the language of the image into a stimulus for critical reflection, not an invitation to hypnosis.
Rachel LeCure

Rachel (Hobbs) LeCure is a 8th grade English teacher at Esperanza Middle School in Philadelphia. She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA with a B.A. in Anthropology and received an MA in Education from Chestnut Hill Colllege. As an undergraduate, she was an instructor in the Powerful Voices for Kids program at the Russell Byers Charter School. Now she teaches teachers in her building how to use technology to enhance learning and create a learning community.
