The Big Game

Using Super Bowl Ads To Encourage Critical Thinking & Media Literacy

The BIG game is coming (again).  With Super Bowl 55 approaching, it’s time to think about how you can use the biggest advertising event of the year to help students understand how to analyze persuasive media. In 2021, advertisers will pay $5.5 million per 30 seconds to reach mass audiences -- and to be included in CBS Sports’ livestream of the game, advertisers will pony up an additional $300,000.

Presenters: Renee Hobbs and Frank Baker

What knowledge and skills are needed by students in elementary, middle school, high school and at the college level? In this interactive workshop, we won't just talk about advertising. We'll model a variety of creative instructional strategies that you can use to deepen how students analyze and evaluate advertising in your classroom!
