Digital and Media Literacy: Dialogue with Dutch Educators

We are delighted to collaborate with the U.S. State Department International Visitor Program and World Affairs Council of Rhode Island to offer a one-day training to a team of Dutch journalists, educators and academics who are visiting the United States with an interest in digital and media literacy.

DATE: Friday, December 20, 2019 

TIME: 9 am - 4 pm

LOCATION: URI Providence Campus, Room 260

Program goals: 

  • Provide participants with a better understanding of the differences and similarities between the U.S. and the Dutch education systems
  • Examine different educational methods that teach digital and media literacy skills and the use of new technologies in the classroom.
  • Learn best practices within secondary school education from curriculum design to teacher training
  • To examine public-private and public-public partnership opportunities in teaching digital and media literacy skills in secondary school curricula
