DIGIURI MEDIA CLUB: "The Attention Merchants: The Epic Scramble to Get Inside Our Heads" by Tim Wu
On June 3rd at 9am EST we discussed "The Attention Merchants: The Epic Scramble to Get Inside Our Heads" by Tim Wu. This book explores how commercial interests are using online content marketing to attract our attention—sensationalism, misinformation, and even valuable content is at work. Tim Wu is a professor of law at Columbia, but also has a long history in public policy, including some of the earliest work on net neutrality legislation (in fact, he is credited with coining the term.)
