Episode 5: Pamela Steager

Pam SteagerIn this episode, Pam Steager, OG member of the Media Education Lab, talks with Yonty Friesem to reflect on her journey with media literacy. Listen how she describes her engagement with Elizabeth Thoman and the Felton Scholars Program in 1999. Pam has travelled all over the world to help teachers to integrate media literacy into the curriculum. 

With co-authors Renee Hobbs and Liz Deslauriers, she wrote The Library Screen Scene, a book on film and media programs in school and public libraries, published by Oxford University Press in 2019.

Pam delights in sharing the many rewards on her “passion project” of media literacy. She also explains how the Courageous Rhode Island enables her to make new friends and colleagues across the state.
