David Foster will share a prototype AI literacy mini-module designed for high school and early college students. The module uses a visual “AI Factory” metaphor to help students see that ChatGPT is not a neutral answer machine: its responses are shaped by pattern prediction, human preference tuning, helpfulness pressure, safety rules, and style polishing. The session will invite discussion about how this metaphor might support media literacy teaching, especially around AI, attention, persuasion, learning, and the hidden systems that shape online discourse.
