I.A.M. (Information, AI, and Media Literacy): A Curious Skeptic Toolkit for a Connected World.

The IAM Three-Layer Architecture Three layers. Nine elements. One developmental progression from Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Students today are growing up within connected information environments shaped by algorithms, media systems, artificial intelligence, advertising, online communities, and constant streams of information and influence. Students are not only reading content. They are moving through systems designed to capture attention, shape choices, influence behavior, and reward engagement.

At the same time, many educators recognize another challenge: students are more engaged when learning feels meaningful, personally relevant, connected to their lives, and open to genuine curiosity and exploration.

Created by Glen Warren and Stephanie Gamache, I.A.M. is designed to help educators bring these literacies together rather than treating them as competing initiatives. It provides practical ways to embed information, media, and AI literacy into learning that is already taking place while helping students connect knowledge to meaning and responsibility.
