We're watching Mr. Nobody Against Putin to reflect on the nature of video production in K-12 schools and the consider what happens when teaching becomes a form of political indoctrination.
"Mr. Nobody Against Putin" is a riveting first-person expose of Russia's wartime student indoctrination program told through the eyes and lens of a small-town primary school teacher who dared to challenge the program and expose the truth. Winner of the Sundance World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award.
Mr. Nobody Against Putin profiles the life of a Russian teacher Pavel “Pasha” Talankin who lives in an industrial town at the base of the Ural mountains. When Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine was still in its early days. Talankin worked as a videographer and student life organizer at the same high school he had attended, and as the war raged on and President Vladimir Putin’s propaganda efforts ramped up to quell public dissatisfaction with the conflict, Talankin started using his job of filming constantly around school to document the militarization and indoctrination protocols mandated in schools across the entire country.
About Watch Party
We're using Teleparty for a shared viewing experience that also enables group chat. Teleparty is a browser extension that syncs video playback and adds a group chat to streaming sites like Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu, letting people watch shows together remotely by installing the extension, starting a party on a video, and sharing a link to sync playback and chat in real-time.
While Teleparty synchronizes the video and permits group chat, it doesn't bypass the subscription requirement for each viewer to access the content. You must have an Amazon Prime account and rent the film to join the party!
