Professor Julie Coiro led a pre-conference institute, "Fostering Literacy and Response with Research-Based Instructional Practices and Web 2.0 Technologies," where Renee Hobbs offered the closing keynote address on "Copyright and Fair Use for Digital Learning." On May 1, Renee Hobbs offered the 2012 Computers in Reading Research Award Keynote Address, "Digital and Media Literacy: Connecting Culture to Classroom."
