Amidst divisive politics, environmental disasters, and social media scandals, there have been lots of tough issues bombarding our lives! Learn how to address these challenging topics in your classroom using relevant media documents and instructional practices that encourage students to be both critical and compassionate. The highly interactive webinar will be facilitated by an educator with over 30 years of experience and will showcase free educational resources.
Sox Sperry, Project Look Sharp’s lead curriculum developer, began his career as a teacher at a school devoted to engaging students in critical reflection and civic engagement. He spent the next few decades teaching nonviolence with teens and adults who had been arrested for violence. His work at Project Look Sharp has focused on helping teachers explore hot-button issues related to social justice, identity and climate disruption.
