- When students generate their own questions, teachers and student can support each other as co-learners

When Teachers Are Co-Learners
- Learning can be joyful as trust and respect are cultivated
- Teachers do not need to be experts in content if they embrace a willingness to be lifelong learners
- Through authentic and relevant learning activities, a sense of social responsibility can flourish

Het Nederlands funderend onderwijs staat voor een curriculumherziening, beschreven in de ontwerpen van curriculum.nu. De invulling van de thema’s in het onderwijs is nog niet bepaald, maar het is duidelijk dat het thema digitale geletterdheid een vaste plek in het curriculum krijgt. Dit betekent dat er behoefte is aan leraren die kennis hebben van dit onderwerp. Daartoe moeten niet alleen de huidige leraren maar ook de toekomstige leraren opgeleid worden.
Dat roept een aantal vragen op: Hoe digitaal geletterd moet de leraar van de toekomst zijn? En wat vraagt dat van de lerarenopleidingen?
Kennisnet gaat in samenwerking met de lerarenopleidingen van de Hogeschool Leiden, Hogeschool Utrecht, HAN University of Applied Sciences op zoek naar antwoorden op deze vragen in een vakcommunity. Deze vakcommunity zal naast het gesprek met elkaar, ook periodiek contact leggen met de bredere gemeenschap van leraren, lerarenopleiders, leraren in opleiding en andere betrokkenen.
Gastspreker Renee Hobbs
Dit brede gesprek starten we, in samenwerking met het Netwerk Mediawijsheid, via een webinar met als gastspreker Renee Hobbs.
Renee Hobbs is hoogleraar communicatiewetenschappen aan de Harrington School of Communication and Media van de Universiteit van Rhode Island in de Verenigde Staten. Ze is auteur van het recent verschenen boek ‘Mind Over Media’ waarin ze leraren uitlegt hoe leerlingen kritisch kunnen omgaan met nieuwe media.
Tijdens het webinar zal Hobbs ingaan op de actieve rol die een leraar speelt hierbij en hoe leraren en leerlingen samen kunnen leren deze rol verder vorm te geven. Dit zal ze doen op een interactieve manier.

Dit webinar is bedoeld voor leraren en lerarenopleiders die een introductie op digitale geletterdheid, de lerarenopleiding en leraar in de toekomst willen.

Het webinar zal voor een groot deel in het Engels plaatsvinden. Tijdens de interactieve onderdelen is de voertaal Nederlands. Vanwege het tijdsverschil met de Verenigde Staten vindt het webinar aan het einde van de dag plaats.
