JOB OPENINGS

SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR TEACHERS and

MEDIA LITERACY SUMMER CAMP

July 2009 is “media literacy month” in Philadelphia and we are looking for instructors, videographers and researchers

The Media Education Lab is hosting a week-long summer institute for elementary educators, designed to introduce media literacy and technology integration for the elementary grades. The program runs July 6 – 10, 2009.

We are also sponsoring the Powerful Voices for Kids Summer Camp for 80 – 100 primarily African-American children enrolled in Grades 1 – 6 who attend the Russell Byers Charter School in Philadelphia, located at 19th and Arch Streets.

The program will run in the afternoons for four weeks beginning July 6 through July 31.  During the in-school camp, children will be analyzing and creating media in a number of fun, high-interest activities that build literacy, creativity, collaboration and communication skills.

Join the team that brings media literacy education to children and teachers in Philadelphia this summer! The following positions are available. Please send email with resume to Professor Renee Hobbs, renee.hobbs@temple.edu outlining your interest in the position. Interviews will be held beginning May 1.
