It was 16 years ago when I first learned about Student Reporting Labs, the initiative developed by Founder and Managing Editor 

Dr. David Gracon is an independent scholar and educator who has been teaching critical media literacy since 2000 in higher education (Eastern Illinois University/Associate Professor, Gonzaga University/Assistant Professor, University of Rochester/Adjunct Professor), within international English language teaching and community-based workshops. He is a three-time U.S. Fulbright grant recipient in Romania (2023-2024 Scholar grant), Ukraine (2017-2018 Scholar grant) and Mongolia (Specialist grant fall 2024) all with a deep media literacy education focus.

BOSILOS: A Pilot Study of AI-Supported Media Literacy in Higher Education

This pilot study examined the potential of an interactive, AI-supported learning module to encourage students to examine, question, and compare differing viewpoints on topics including immigration and climate change. In the summer of 2025, the module was piloted with 16 undergraduates enrolled in a course titled Media Literacy and Youth Culture.
