MediaEd Dialogues: A Forum for Dialogue and Discussion

In these two sessions, the floor is open and everyone learns from everyone! This convening uses a "question generation" protocol to discover what people in the session want to talk about. We first establish some ground rules to ensure that our discussion is authentic and useful to all participants.

Our new research collaboration initiative aims to encourage international collaboration and dialogue between media education scholars across disciplines and cultures. By offering a 3-day social and professional conference in Chicago and online, we hope to start a new summer tradition at the Media Education Lab to allow for better exchange of ideas, methods and knowledge sharing.

Join us in late September 2025 as we plan our first MediaEd Research Jam. See the type of sessions we plan to have.

Join us for the 17th MediaEd Forum!

We've changed the name of the Northeast Media Literacy Conference (now in its 17th year) to reflect the growing global diversity of our online knowledge community!

Conference Theme: Confronting the Challenges

The Graduate Symposium of the Media Education Lab is an online leadership development program for masters and doctoral students who are looking to delve into media literacy practices and find their community of practice. This virtual gathering includes academic mentorship, networking, and practical workshops. It's a unique opportunity to not only meet leading scholars and emerging academics, but also to enhance your own expertise in media literacy education.

The formal application to the 2024 MediaEd Graduate Symposium is open!Â
